Who is your ultimate OTP and why?
You– you– WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?? But fine. Right now it’s Aelin and Rowan because FEELINGS OK!! Even if Titus and Iolanthe come close, Aelin and Rowan incite a much more impassioned response from me because apparently, Rowan isn’t very popular. And when something isn’t popular I’m more inclined to root for them, especially if I already liked them to start with. And I just completely dodged the “why” part of the question, lol. What is it about OTPs that reduce people to incoherent messes??
Quote you live by and why?
I don’t think it’s an actual quote, but I like “Hard work never betrays you,” because even if I’m not a particularly hard worker (hah) it motivates me to try my best. Even if I wasn’t successful in my endeavor at the end I can say my efforts weren’t lacking!
How far in are you with your current read and how are you feeling about it?
I’m about 50% in Queen of Shadows and I’m feeling pretty good about it! I’m taking so long with it since I’m in transition between jobs and when I get home I’m just so wiped. I hope to finish it within the week though!
What is your biggest struggle with blogging and why?
Right now it’s keeping up a regular posting schedule! I thought my previous process was pretty chill, but as it turns out, it actually took a fair bit of time. So now what I need to learn is to properly manage my time between reading and blogging (and getting enough sleep lol).
What book are you crazily looking forward to read?
THE FATE OF THE TEARLING! I have my hands on Empire of Storms, The Beauty of Darkness, pre-ordered Crooked Kingdom so my anticipation of those has tapered off a bit already, but The Fate of the Tearling is still so far away!! I just want an HEA for Kelsea and Pen, I’ve honestly been low-key shipping them since Invasion, haha.
Where is your favourite place to read?
No particular place, I’m perfectly happy somewhere quiet with as little distractions as possible. If it’s in public then people can deal with my crazy expressions, lol.
If you were stranded on an island, which three authors would be with you?
Sarah J. Maas, because she has 5 (or 6?) more books in the ACOTAR series and one more left in TOG and in the time we have until we’re rescued she can tell me what happens and I can tell her how I feel, lol.
(Do they have to be living?) Jane Austen, because I am fascinated by her social commentary in her novels and would love to know more about it!
Bruce Cumings, since his works have been a staple in my Korea major life and I would love to have someone on the island to discuss my readings with.
What is your pet peeve when it comes to character personalities?
When the girl (because somehow every guy I’ve read is aware of how good-looking or how great he is, and I mean this in a matter-of-fact way) is unaware of how attractive or how pretty she is and because of this she’s so open and unassuming. Can’t a girl be chill while also being aware of their own charms? I would love to read about more girls who are confident in their looks but are also cool and laidback.
Why did you name your blog the name you did?
Ah because I love traveling and reading! When I can’t afford plane tickets or just need a respite from everyday life, books take me to different places, and I wanted a name that would convey what books meant to me.
If you could be a character for a day, who would you be?
Dina DeMille from The Innkeeper Series! Intergalactic innkeeper for a day, complete with a shapeshifting Shih-tzu and a sentient inn with a steady stream of visitors, sounds like a break from my usual routine.
