The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. (St. Augustine)
Hello! I’m Nina, I’m a graduate student, and By Page or By Plane will document the places I visit, the books I read, and occasionally, whatever else tickles my fancy. I think I can best describe myself as terribly uncreative and highly inarticulate. Oddly enough I like taking pictures and own a blog, both of which require some measure of creativity and articulacy.
As a graduate student I am currently taking up Asian Studies as a Korea major, and while the books I read come mostly from the young adult, new adult, fantasy, and romance genres, I really do read anything I can get my hands on. My Book Reviews tab has a partial list of books I’ve read, and alternatively, Goodreads as well!
My first impression isn’t the best – my friends have told me that I come off aloof and a bit snobbish, mostly because I think have resting bitch face. Usually I’m pretty friendly though, but I think I communicate better via words. I also consider myself pretty lucky as I took the Pottermore Sorting Hat quiz again and came out unscathed – it’s confirmed, I’m a Ravenclaw.
I also used to be a huge K-Pop fan, and take pictures of groups I see in concert, some of which you can still find here. I still listen to it, but I’m not active in any fandom anymore.
Why By Page or By Plane?
I love traveling – I like going to new places, but also love going back to where it almost feels like a second home. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, I can’t always go traveling, so I turn to something I equally love – books! Books allow me to travel when I need to stay put, and are usually cheaper… if you don’t go overboard on buying them.
